Explanation of how to record Abema TV
This article will show you how to record video content using AbemaTV's video streaming service. AbemaTV is currently called "ABEMA", but this has not been widely adopted by the public, so I will refer to it as "AbemaTV". The recording technique I will show you is legal. You can therefore record VOD with no worries!
Let's look at how to record video content using AbemaTV, a video streaming service.
Recording about Abema TV
AbemaTV video content can't be recorded on any device, such as smartphones, tablets and HDD recorders. The "HDCP" technology prevents unauthorized video recording. This encrypts audio and video outputs from HDCP-compliant HDMI, DVI–D, and DisplayPort ports. To play encrypted audio and video correctly, the input device must be equipped with HDCP compliant HDMI, DVI/D or DisplayPort.
What you need for recording Abema TV?
You can record Abema TV by preparing the following items.
- Personal computer (+ internet connection)
- AbemaTV Account
- Special recording software
Apart from basic equipment for video playback (such as a computer and internet connection) recording AbemaTV will require a special recording software called the "StreamGaGa AbemaTV downloader".
You can reduce the cost of AbemaTV by signing up repeatedly and cancelling when you don't need it. If you have videos that you wish to view on Abema TV you can pay for only one month. You can then record them all and save them forever. Then you can access them again without having to pay a single yen.
The advantage of being able to download all video content that is not being distributed is also quite small. Recording rental movies at an additional cost is another huge advantage. Recording it will mean that you won't need to worry about its expiration date. And, most importantly, it will allow you to view the same title any time and anywhere you want, without the need to rent it again.
It makes sense to pay 10,000 yen to record software, given the above purposes. Although the full software is recommended, there are no functional limitations. However, you can also download a free trial version to test the software.
